old kit vs new kit

I don't know if I'd write off the newer Kit dolls without some further investigation. I think our DDs new Kit looks more like the clothed Kit in the pictures than like the unclothed Kit. It seems possible that this could be a production facility issue rather than an old vs. new issue - like the way there were Nellie dolls that looked different too!
When I save enough to get Marisol, I know I'd prefer to pick her out in person, but I'm not sure that will work in trying to also hide her from DDs and DH!! Too bad we can't ask customer service to send us pictures of dolls before purchasing [img]wink.gif[/img] .

I would love to be able to pick the doll I wanted out of a line up, especially Kit. I am not sure I will ever make it to one of the stores though. I live in Kansas and am moving back to Colorado soon. I want to visit Chicago but my family doesn't believe that I should go on a road trip to Chicago even though I would have Abby for company.

In my opinion, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the newer Kits. I had a 2002 Kit that I had to sell a few months ago, and my mother gave me a new Kit for Christmas. I like the newer one better! She has pinker lips, pinker cheeks, a peachier skin tone, and slimmer hips, which means she fits into the pants from AGOT outfits much better. She is adorable!

The kits on Tracy's album are both older versions. I have the one on the left here. She was covered in grime and in the need of a good cleaning and washing. A little girl had gotten lotion all over her body and make up on her eyes.

Meanwhile their cat had gotten to it and made holes and slightly chewed her fingers and a toe or two. Not really bad. Kit has had a make over and rework and is wonderful.

I believe she is an older doll because side by side with my nieces she is different. I will have to get the new doll in the next few days to take a picture of a recently bought one and this one.Partly the skin texture and colour is different.

Her make over has turned out nice and I have uploaded them into Tracy's album. Go take a look!

I have gone ahead and ordered Kit. I have three weekends of show call coming up so I can splurge. If I don't like her I can return her no questions asked from AG, then I will go looking on Ebay but the used ones still go for nearly new prices.

I created an Imagestation of DD's 2004 Kit for comparison today, but the site won't let me make the album public! Every time I choose a category (required for public albums) the site goes wacky on me. It has been very frustrating . . . .
I'll try again tomorrow.

I am also trying to upload my Kit picture as my new Avatar, but am having no luck [img]frown.gif[/img] .
